The fourth quarter of the year is the most important of the year as it has the biggest impact on sales and the future growth of your business. To make sure you take full advantage of the opportunities the fourth quarter brings. Be sure to focus on these four things:

Football season has kicked off and is in high gear, which makes it an exciting time for fans all over the country. But the number one team we should root for at this time is the one that drives our business.
Now that we’re in the fourth quarter of the year, we need to be hyper-focused on getting that touchdown that we’ve had our eye on since the beginning of the year.
Depending on how the year has gone, we may be tempted to slack off in this last quarter and play it easy. It’s the holiday season, so it can be really hectic for some business owners. In addition to closing out books and preparing for financial reporting, this can be an overwhelming time for business owners.
Let us be your cheerleaders to let you know: YOU’VE GOT THIS!
The game is not over and there’s still time for you to make a comeback. Focus on these four things to make it to the endzone.
Before we plan for the future, we have to look at the past.
What are the goals you set at the beginning of the year and how well have you met them?
Now is the time to evaluate your performance this year and decide what pivots you need to make so that you reach those goals by the end of the year.
Evaluate your marketing and sales activities and find the things that aren’t working and take a step back from them. Discover the things that have been working really well because it may be time to amp it up in the fourth quarter.
Athletes don’t just go on the field and play, right? No, they condition and train all year long so that they are in their best shape. Similarly, we should train ourselves and our team to be in our best condition when we’re working in our business.
One of the ways we need to condition is by strengthening our mindset. This can be a stressful time for everyone and if you don’t have the right mental state, you’ll easily be swept under the tide.
Make sure you have the time worked into your schedule to :
Encourage your team members to do the same. If your team feels overwhelmed and stressed at work, this could lead to more resignations and low retention rates.
Keep in mind it’s never too late to learn some new skills. Take a note of some things you and your team struggle with and invest in some extra training to get your team up to par.
As a business owner, learning comes fast and furiously at us as we manage all the aspects of our business. Some skills come easy, others we learn through costly failures. To minimize that cost, learning has to be consistent and constant. The more you learn, the more you need to put what you learn into practice.
You may need to switch the positions of your team members to best utilize their skills.
The speed that you change right now sets the timeline for your business. So, first, look at those who can be shifted quickly and can be easily moved to another position. Move these people into sales or marketing or other areas that need more attention. You can even move these people into areas that generate the most revenue.
This can be a temporary change just for the last quarter, but feel it out and see how everyone likes it. It could result in permanent changes if your business thrives.
Make sure you condition your team, as we mentioned before to prepare them for their new roles.
Always be thinking about the future. Q4 is the perfect time to set goals for the first quarter of next year. These can change significantly depending on how well you do in this quarter, but knowing how well you did this year allows you to set obtainable goals for the next year.
This is why every quarter we hold our GrowthCLUB workshop where a group of business owners are trained on strategies that will help them master their time, be clear on their priorities, and equip them with the mindset and tools they need to achieve their goals.
