Most businesses know the number of customers they have but that number is not the most important. It's not the most important because you can't go out and get a new customer tomorrow. Customers are the result of getting more leads and converting those leads to customers (watch the video below to learn more). You need to have a sales funnel process in place and you should test and measure the different activites you are doing to determine if they are effective or not.
